About Your Career

How did you get to LauraMac?

It's funny, I often say the planets just aligned. I've been in due diligence since 2009, starting in underwriting and working my way up through various leadership roles. My path to LauraMac happened somewhat by chance. I was working for a client whose company ultimately closed its doors, and during a conversation I mentioned, "If you're hiring, I need a job." As luck would have it, LauraMac was hiring at exactly the right time. What started as a fortunate opportunity has turned into a place where I've been able to grow, contribute, and truly enjoy what I do.

What does your day to day look like in your role?

No two days are exactly alike, which is one of the things I enjoy most about my role. A large part of my day is focused on Tenant Tethering. This includes ensuring mappings are accurate, clients are successful, and processes are working as intended. Whenever tickets come in related to Tenant Tethering or Reliance Letters, I'm involved in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and making sure our clients have the support they need. I also spend a lot of time thinking about enhancements and improvements. I jokingly call it my "wish list"; a running collection of ideas that could make the platform even better. I work closely with teams to turn those ideas into actionable stories and potential solutions.

Of course, there are always a few fires to put out along the way. Whether it's helping a client close out a final review, purchase loans using Reliance Letters, or resolve an unexpected issue, there's always something new that requires attention. And, like most roles today, there are plenty of meetings mixed in as well.

General Life

What do you do in your free time?

Outside of owning a local pub in my hometown, my favorite role these days is being a first-time grandmother. My grandson, Ryan James, was born in November, and he has completely stolen my heart. When I'm not working or helping at the restaurant, you'll usually find me spending time with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Watching him grow and experiencing life through his eyes has been an incredible blessing.

What is something you’re really into right now?

Sports have always been a big part of my life. My husband and I are passionate fans, especially when it comes to hockey. I'm loyal to all things Pittsburgh; the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. When college football season rolls around, you'll find me cheering on Auburn. As an Auburn alumna, that connection runs deep.
That said, the restaurant keeps us busy. Most days start with my LauraMac responsibilities and end at the pub, often making for long but rewarding days. It's a full schedule, but I genuinely enjoy every part of it.
